"front of house" is about the spot in a venue where everything comes together. It's where the sound desk and the technicians sit, the position from which the whole stage finally reads as one clear picture. That is where I set up, because from there I can hold the overview and the detail at the same time, the light and the gear along with the people on stage. I am less interested in a single peak moment than in the full situation around it.

With the large format camera the concert turns into something calm and precise. It isn't a snapshot caught on the fly, but a complete record of how the room and the show fit together.
