"pedale treten" is an ongoing project about the spaces of professional cycling. A race is over in seconds but before the riders arrive, and long after they have gone, what stays is the setting. Spectators lean into a corner while banners move in the wind, and along the road you can feel the anticipation slowly building.

I am not trying to tell the story of the winner. What draws me is the stage, and the people who turn an ordinary street into a stadium for one afternoon. The stillness around the speed is what I keep coming back to.
